The newly elected President of Uganda Law Society Pheona Nabbasa Wall has applauded all people who contested on various elective positions in the Law society during the elections which took place on Saturday.
In her first message released under the new capacity, she said that all the candidates were worthy, added value to the campaigns and thus promised to work with them in bettering the Association.
“I look forward to convening a meeting at which we shall discuss a harmonization process that optimizes ideas of different campaigns into a formidable action plan,” she said.
Wall congratulated all those that were elected in various offices of the society and appreciated them for having displayed gentleness and maturity throughout the entire electoral process.
“The second collective victory we have achieved is that we have displayed the virtues of participatory democracy and set an example for issue based campaign.”
She further stated that this is a much needed ingredient in the political arena, therefore, this exercise will act as a blue print for elections throughout the country.
Pheona Wall has been the Vice President of the Association at the same time the chairperson of the Legal Aid and Probono Project of the Uganda Law society.
She has replaced Simon Peter Kinobe who has served two terms as the Society President.
