NIC holdings has on Thursday afternoon unveiled a new partnership with the She Cranes as the official insurance partner.
The development comes as the African Champions set for their upcoming World Cup engagement next year in Liverpool, England.
The package, was unveiled at the NIC headquarters in Kampala.
The package is a travel health insurance worth one million two hundred and fifty thousand euros (1250000 Euros).
The policy covers against emergency medical expenses, legal fees: medical transportation amongst others.
This, will cover all players, coaching staff and team doctor.
Speaking on the day, NIC’s Managing director Elias Edu noted: “We have been the number one corporate supporter of netball Uganda for over 30 years. This is a next step in line with our community development program through Sports.”
Edu, also congratulated the team upon their achievements in the recently concluded Netball Africa Cup championship, where the She Cranes won the trophy, for a third year in a row.
The partnership with the She Cranes first begun in 2015 when NIC insured the team for the Netball World Cup in Sydney. It should also be noted that NIC is the official insurance partner for Uganda Cranes.
Doctor Sarah Nkonge, the team’s patron, speaking in reception, commended NIC for filling in the gap and being their for the team in thick and thin.
She urged all other companies and the government to come and board to support the girls and the sport in general.
