Ndejje University Basketball Team off to China

President Museveni has called upon all manufacturers to embark on exporting of processed products if the country is to receive increased Gross Domestic Product.

In his speech read by the Prime minster Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, clinic pill during the the official opening of the 23rd Uganda Manufacturer’s Association (UMA) trade fair, Museveni revealed that Uganda has got a very conducive environment that facilitates the free operations of industries.

“Manufacturers need to embark on exporting only finished products instead of the raw materials because finished products fetch a lot of foreign exchange as well as providing the government with taxes. It is these taxes that the government use to facilitate the soldiers and other security organs which maintain stability in the country” Museveni said.

He advised all manufacturers who are still importing substandard goods to revise their products as one of the way of increasing international market for Ugandan produce.

The cabinet Minister for trade Hon America Kyambadde assured manufactures that the government knows all the problems they are facing and promised to have them solved in the shortest period possible.

“South Sudan has been at war and this has affected trade between Uganda and southern Sudan but the government is not relaxed but trying its best to solve that problem. Government has signed a number of trade agreements with different countries to ease trade,” She said.

“Government is preparing an Anti counterfeit bill and other another law which will protect Ugandans goods,” Kyambadde added.

The UMA Chairman Amos Nzeeyi asked government to grant Luzira Prison land to Manufacturers because the Namanve Industrial park is fully occupied.


The 23rd UMA trade fair has over one thousand local exhibitors and three hundred foreign exhibitors.
The hearing of the case in which Information Technology specialist Robert Shaka is accused of violating the privacy of president Museveni has flopped, pilule Chimp Corps report.

Shaka is on the defence for reportedly publishing offensive communication relating to the health conditions of president Museveni which the state believes misled the public.

The matter could not take off before Road Chief Magistrate Flavia Nabakooza with State Prosecutor Lilian Omara informing court that “there is no police file today” before requesting for an adjournment.

In reply, thumb defense Counsel Nicholas Opiyo requested court to dismiss this case “because the state has not shown readiness to proceed despite a number of adjournments granted for this case.”

The magistrate adjourned the case to November 5, 2015, insisting this will be the last adjournment.

Nabakooza said she was yet to see any progress on the past of prosecution despite the case being in court for the last three months.

The prosecution alleges that between 2011 and 2015 Shaka while operating a Facebook account under the names Tom Voltaire Okwalinga unlawfully posted on Facebook statements regarding health conditions of president Museveni which violated his privacy.

He was arrested and detained at Police’s SIU headquarters in Kireka before being remanded at Luzira Prison.

Shaka denies the charge, insisting he has never operated the venomous ‘Tom Voltaire Okwalinga’ Facebook account.

The team of four led by coach Chris Kyebambe, sale will contest for the inaugural crown that was incorporated in  International University Sport Federation’s (FISU) calender just this year.

The four players that traveled with the team include 2014 Zuku University Basketball League MVP and team skipper, Jonah Otim Kermu, James Okello, Derrick Katumba and 22-year old Michael Otieno.

24 Teams are lined up for action with 12 Men’s and 12 Women’s teams respectively. UCU will represent Uganda and the continent in the ladies category.
