NBS TV owner Kin Kariisa is determined to expand his media empire just as he announced last year when he launched Next Media Services with the aim of having a 360 degree media network under one management.
ChimpLyf has established that, Kariisa through Next Media Services has bought off Ntinda based 106.1 Jazz FM that has been off air for months now.
Kariisa is reported to have coughed Shs2.5 billion to acquire the radio station hoping to resurrect it and bring back its glory days.
Jazz FM was formerly owned by local jazz musician and saxophonist Isaiah Katumwa having opened it in 2015.
We understand that Karisa is planning a mega re-launch bash for the radio station in September although it is uncertain whether he will retain the name or rename it to his liking.
Next Media Services is the holding company for Kamwokya based NBS TV, Nile Post, Sanyuka TV and now Jazz FM.
