Ahead of next year’s highly billed general elections NBS Television have unveiled has launched what they are terming the “Political Command Centre’ from where they will be based to cover the election.
The station’s parent company, Next Media Services recently relocated from Kamwokya its new home, the Next Media Park that is located at Plot 13, Summit View Road in Naguru.
Speaking at the command center pre-launch event held at the Next Media Park Auditorium yesterday, the group CEO, Kin Kariisa, told his team, sought to among other dismissed the accusation that they were leaning toward the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
The accusations gained steam following the station’s extensive coverage of the just concluded NRM parliamentary primary elections.
However, while commenting on the claims, Mr Kariisa clarified that they had successfully won a bid to provide the coverage.
“Our massive coverage of the NRM primaries was a result of a successful bid from us,” he said.
“Other media houses were invited but couldn’t handle the task at hand. We could have broadcast from all districts, but they needed just 35.”
He also noted that NBS extensively covered live the National Unity Platform’s unveiling ceremony and their receiving of the DP Bloc at Kamwokya as well as other political events including when Mayor Erias Lukwago officially crossed to FDC.
At the event, Kariisa urged his staff to keep their focus on the company’s vision to be the leading multimedia group for East Africa.
