Pemba Warriors will looking to make amends on Saturday as the National Basketball League goes to KIU Court in Kansanga.

Warriors take on KCCA panthers in one of the six league games on the day.

The two time league champions come into the game at the back of two back to back losses. Warriors lost 60-82 to KIU before falling 77-83 to City Oilers.

The first round of this tie ended 64-77 in Warriors favour, a game that was played on June 27th. The Kyambogo based side will hope for maximum points so as to keep the leaders in sight.

Ronnie Mutebi’s charges are fifth on the log with nine (9) wins from 15 attempts as KCCA sit second from the bottom with only five victories.

In what is expected to be the game of the day, A1 Challenge take on JKL Lady Dolphins.

The Dolphins sit on the top of the log and the side will welcome back two of their stars in Rita Imanishimwe and Jamila Nansikombi who missed the team’s recent engagements – The duo were part of the Gazelles team in Madagascar for the FIBA 3*3 Africa cup qualifiers.

JKL remain the favorites in this tie having won the first round encounter 48-40. However, it should be remembered that both sides won a game apiece when they faced off in last season’s regular season.

The Dolphins have won two of their recent games in a row since falling 57-60 to KCCA Leopards, the team’s only dark spot on their impressive record.

JKL have beaten up on KIU Rangers and Javon Ladies in their last two games.

A1 Challenge has won seven in a row since their last league loss, coincidentally, against today’s opponents JKL on June 17th in Lugogo.
