NBL: KCCA Overcome UCU To Finish Second On Table

Sunday, August 26
UCU Lady Canons 55-66 KCCA Leopards

KCCA Leopards managed to overcome UCU with a 55-66 victory in a National Basketball League game played at YMCA Court in Wandegeya, Kampala.

The game that closed the Ladies’ regular season, saw KCCA win 13-22 after the first quarter before the side took a 20-40 lead at halftime.

UCU won the third and fourth quarter 20-16 and 15-10 in that order, but their efforts were not enough as damage had already been caused.

KCCA’s Judith ‘Ayo’ Nansobya scored a game high 17 points, and she was the only KCCA player to reach double point figures.

Angela Zainah Lokwameri scored 14 points, Rose Akon and Sarah Ageno added 13 and 10 points respectively, for UCU.

The victory leaves KCCA in second with 15 wins from 22 attempts – KCCA will not face leaders JKL Lady Dolphins anywhere in the playoffs until the finals (provided both sides reach there).

UCU Lady Canons end the regular season in third with 14 wins and four losses.
