Startimes Falcons got their first win in the 2017 National basketball league with a commanding victory against Sharing Youth on Sunday at YMCA.

Following a dismal start that saw them go the opening four games of the season without victory, Falcons who are the record champions finally earned their maiden victory this season defeating Sharing 65-34.

Falcons, who lost Silverbucks captain Stephen Omony to City Oilerd, opened up their season campaign with a disastrous loss to league new comers JKL dolphins before falling victims to Betway power and Nkumba marines.

Okumu Bernard and Vinnie Jurua scored 20 and 16 points respectively for Bernard Ankunda’s charges.

In the other games played on Sunday, Our saviour basketball club also picked their first win of the season with an 87-71 victory past JKL dolphins in the highest scoring game of the day.

Our Saviour who played without Senfuka Peter and Mwebaze Edgar, had Elungat Peter and Pirwoth Wilberforce pick 16 and 20 points respectively.

Ndejje University Angels picked their second consecutive win with Deng Maker notching 19 points as Walker Obedi’s Angels won 83-45 against Nkumba Marines.

In the Ladies category, Moreen Amoding who was on the court for just 12 minutes managed to collect 19 points as Roger Sserunjogi’s KCCA leopards swept aside Magic Stormers by 79-47.

Nicholas Natuhereza’s UCU lady canons won 47-38 against Gladiators in the lowest scoring match of the day.

Nakiru Patricia gathered 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 8 points for Eddy Oumo’s A1 Challenges to guide them to a 60-38 victory against Derrick Mbusi’s Lioness.

The Basketball league returns this Wednesday wth both matches to be played at YMCA court.
