Nassuna Returns in UCU, Kawempe Titanic Clash

FUFA Women Super League

UCU Lady Cardinals Vs Kawempe Muslim

Lethal forward Hasifah Nassuna’s timely return is a huge boost for Uganda Christian University Lady Cardinals’ camp prior to their return leg game with Kawempe Muslim Ladies this evening.

Nassuna has been on the sidelines nursing an injury sustained towards the climax of the first round. Her return is a major boost for UCU that aims at closing gap on third placed Lady Doves.

The defending champions UCU hosts four time Champions, Kawempe Muslim in the FUFA Women Super League return leg at the UCU playground in Mukono.

The epic encounter sees UCU plotting to halt Kawempe Muslim’s unbeaten run.

Kawempe Muslim has recorded five wins and one draw in their previous six games played in the league.

Ayub Khalifa’s side won the reverse fixture 2-0 at Kawempe grounds thanks to Anita Namata and Margaret Kunihira strikes, hence the Lady Cardinals will aim for revenge.

On the other side, Kawempe Muslim also welcomes back darling forward Juliet Nalukenge and midfielder Shakira Nyinagahirwa.

Nalukenge has been on the sidelines missing the club’s three previous league games having last donned Kawempe’s jersey on the 5th of February.

Key players

Uganda Christian University will have hope in Nassuna, goalkeeper Ruth Arturo and Captain Maureen Kinavdori.

Kawempe Muslim will seek inspiration from Nalukenge, Kunihira, Namata and midfield Picasso, Shamira Nalujja.

Both Nalukenge and Nalujja were outstanding performers as Uganda U17 Girls obliterated Tanzania on Saturday in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers at Lugogo.

Nalujja bossed the midfield putting up a man of the match performance while Nalukenge scored a brace in 5-0 victory.

Both Namata and Kunihira have scored three goals each in their last six games, hence the hosts should be vigilant about the duo.

UCU are positioned in 5th on seven points with a win taking them to ten points and leapfrogging Kampala Queens should they fail to dominate She Corporate at Kabojja.

Kawempe Muslim has 16 points on top, three ahead of second placed Uganda Martyrs and a win will stretch their lead to six points if they bag maximum points from Mukono.
