Nantaba Case: Three Nagalama Police Officers Arrested

Uganda Police Force has Wednesday afternoon arrested three of its field officers attached to Naggalama Police Station for giving false information regarding the death of a suspected assassin in Nagojje, Kayunga district over the weekend.

The announcement has been made by Spokesperson CP Fred Enanga in urgent presser at Kampala Central Police.

Mr Enanga identified the officers currently under custody at Railway Station Police Post as Ronald Opira, David Saali and Police constable Geoffrey Nagonza.

He said as investigations are underway, the officers have been charged with murder and issuance of false information to their seniors.

The arrest follows a public outcry that Police officers carried out an extrajudicial act by killing an unarmed suspected attacker of Aidah Nantaba , the State Minister for ICT.

It was reported that police officers chased and arrested a one Ronald Sebulime who was later shot to death during the alleged foiled assassination attempt.

However, eyewitnesses recounted that the police patrol chased the suspected attackers and arrested a one Sebulime before shooting him at close range in Nagojje trading center as locals looked on.
