Namibia Rugby Union, through their commercial and operations arm, Namibia Rugby Ltd have announced the squad to represent the country in this year’s Rugby Africa Gold Cup.
The group of 44 players summoned boasts a blend of young and experienced as Namibia look to defend the African crown.
Head coach Phil Davies expects a tougher challenge than the team faced last year.
“We have assembled a strong squad with the relevant talent, mental strength and depth to meet the hefty challenges ahead.” Davies revealed after naming his team.
Of the 44 players announced, ten will be on standby incase there’s need for replacements during the season.
With the Gold Cup getting underway in June, Namibia will be favourites for the title.
This year’s Gold Cup also doubles as a qualifier for the Rugby World Cup amd Namibia will be looking to qualify for their sixth World Cup.
Namibia will start their title defense in a home clash with Uganda on June 16.
