A senior Police officer attached to Namanve Industrial Park Police Station yesterday rescued and aided an expectant mother, helping her to deliver a baby boy before rushing her to a health centre.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Darlington Eiru, helped Vincent Abisa’s wife to deliver after getting complications and calling police to help transport her to a health centre.
“The expectant mother called police for help, the officer responded but couldn’t transport her after she showed signs that she was about to deliver,” said the Kampala Police Metropolitan Spokesperson Patrick Onyango.
“So the officer pulled out his gloves and attended to her until she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy,” Onyango added.
He further explained that after their officer helped the mother to deliver, he rushed her and the baby to the clinic where they are being taken care of.
“The mother and child are in good condition. The Uganda Police Force thanks ASP Eiru for the lifesaving help he gave to the woman and child,” Onyango stated.
