Lt Col Edith Nakalema, the head of the Anti-Corruption Unit of State House, has expressed shock over the death of her staff.
“My team and I are mourning one of our most dedicated and trustworthy colleagues D/AIP David Openy,” said Nakalema in a Tweet on 11:00pm on Friday.
“His death has shocked us,” she added.
Circumstances under which Openy died remain a mystery.
ChimpReports was unable to get feedback from Nakalema’s public relations team as our calls went unanswered.
Nakalema’s taskforce has since received praise for arresting suspected corrupt elements in public service.
However, she has been criticized for alleged high-handedness in her investigations and prejudging suspects.
Nevertheless, this website understands Nakalema’s team comprises some of the finest investigators in the country with some trained in Israel.
Nakalema posted on her official Twitter handle pictures of her visit to the bereaved family.
“We pray for his family as we seek answers.
May His Soul Rest In Peace,” Nakalema mourned Openy.
