Nagoje Accident: One Dead after Police Patrol Van Ran Over Boda Boda Riders

Police in Nagalama are investigating a serious accident that happened yesterday at Mayangayanga along Nagoje road.

Reports indicate that one person has died from Kawolo Hospital as a result of this accident that happened at around 11 am, involving a police motor vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, and two civilian owned motorcycles.

One motorcycle registration number is UDR 448C Bajaj red in colour while the registration of the other wasn’t identified.

“The two motorcycle riders were riding carelessly and each was carrying two passengers. As the two riders were riding their motorcycles, one lost control of his motorcycle and knocked the other,” said KMP spokesperson SP Patrick Onyango in a statement.

Adding: “The riders and passengers fell in the middle of the road and were knocked by a police car.”

One victim was rushed to Kawolo Hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead.  The deceased has been identified as Jonathan Ssempala aged 28 years.

In related developments, there are five people who sustained injuries when the vehicle they were in overturned.

They have been identified as Vincent Ssempijja 18, who is still admitted at Kawolo Hospital while the others have been referred to Mulago Referral Hospital.


They are Moses Ssentongo, 24, Steven Ssebuliba, 30, Robert Kigozi, 22, and Medi Ssebadeki. All are residents of Nakifuma, Mukono District.
