Nateete Grade One Magistrate Joel Wagoye has committed to High Court seven people accused of murdering social worker Maria Nagirinya and his driver Ronald Kitayimbwa.

The seven include Kisekka Hassan aka Masadda, Mpanga Sharif aka Shafik, Kateregga Sadat aka Barosi , Okiri Raymond and Ssenabulya Isaac

These are facing two counts of kidnap murder and Aggravated Robbery.

According to the indictment signed by Acting Principal State Attorney Safina Bileke, the prosecution says they have enough evidence to have the accused persons convicted on all charges against them

“Whereupon prosecution will contend that the accused have no defence for their criminal acts and shall pray that they are convicted as indicted.”

Among the exhibits that State intends to rely on is the suspects’ charge and caution statements in which they confessed having participated in the acts.

The prosecution will also produce in court Post-mortem reports which indicate that the cause of death for both Nagirinya and Kitayimbwa was Nuerogenic shock following blunt head trauma

Also the CCTV footage showing the movements of Nagirinya’s vehicle followed by a motor cycle driven from Lungujja was retrieved and will be produced among exhibits
