Mzee Dan Sserunkuma Rejoins Express FC

Goal poacher Dan Sserunkuma is an Express FC player, at least if we are to trust what the Club published on the social media platforms.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Dan Sserunkuma,” reads a statement on both of the Club’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

The move comes amidst a controversy which stems from the fact that Sserunkuma had recently signed for a Moroccan club Ittihad Riadi Tanger 2 month’s backs.

It should be recalled that Sserunkuma started his professional spell with the Wankulukuku based club in 2008 where he scored 10 goals from 18 matches before crossing to victors Sports Club.

The player has been on the road since, playing for Nairobi City Stars, Gor Mahia, Simba, Ulisses, Bandari and IR Tanger.

The striker made his senior international debut for the Cranes aainst the Amavubi Stars on 6th February 2013 in Amahoro stadium where he scored scored via a penalty in the 68th minute in a 2-2 draw.

Sseunkuma, a prolific goal machine

Few years back, Micho once described Dan Sserunkuma as one of the best strikers in the region.

“He is definitely one of the best strikers we have in this region and seeing how he played today (Friday), I am happy with his performance,” Micho said, as quoted by

“He (Sserunkuma) never had much time in the World Cup qualifiers or the Chan African Cup qualifiers for Uganda but I now assure him that with this kind of performance, he has won himself a starting place in the senior team.”

Express FC programme

Express FC lost their preseason Friendly against Bukavu dawa 1-0 on Saturday in a game which Steven Bengo played for the Red Eagles.

Express are set to unveil their squad this Monday at Mutundwe, former Uganda Railways building where the club will unveil their new season kit and open the new club offices.

The Club is set to kick off their season on Wednesday, September 13 with a home game against Kirinya Jinja SS before a trip to Kakyeeka Stadium for a Mbarara City FC game 4 days later.
