13-time Uganda Premier League winners KCCA Football Club will have to make do without their intelligent defender John Revita for the remaining fixtures this year’s campaign after the defender confirmed being out of the club’s fold untill 2021.
The pony-tailed center back when engaged in an exclusive interview with ChimpReports attached his longtime absence to a nasty injury sustained midway through this season against URA FC.
Going into the season break, Revita was among the injured players expected to make a timely return for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season but this will certainly not be the case.
“I was told by the team doctors that I tore my ligaments against URA and that will force me into a surgery soon. I had hope to recover in time for the last five league matches and the CHAN tournament but unfortunately, I can’t make it,” he said.
Revita who joined the Uganda Premier League defending champions from Express FC has been outstanding having filled the gap left by Timothy Awany.
“I feel hurt for not being there for my club when they needed me most but I know it was God’s plan. I plan to bounce back stronger next season and start from where I ended but I’m confident that the defenders left at KCCA will go the club achieve it’s targets,” the defender said.
The injury will see KCCA make a forced change by deploying one of Peter Magambo, Hassan Musana, Filbert Obenchan, Musa Ramathan or Samuel Kato to fill the void.
Revita’s was also dropped from the Uganda Cranes provisional squad that was preparing for the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament which was slatted for this month in Cameroon before cancellation.
He will now miss KCCA’s remaining five games in the league and the team’s engagement in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16.
