Former Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) and Uganda Cranes left back Mustafa Kizza has been handed his preferred shirt number 12 by Montreal Impact head coach Henry Thierry.
For starters, Thierry wore the same jersey during his playing time for his national team France, New York Red Bull and as well during his second stint at Arsenal Football Club in 2012.
The club’s latest acquisition Kizza also donned the same shirt 12 during his entire tenure at the Kasassiro Boys and on the Uganda Cranes national football team.
The assist master completed his move to Major League Soccer side in July on a two-year contract before he was loaned back to KCCA due to the travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kizza’s loan move was last month terminated after a ban on international travel was lifted, allowing him link up with his teammates in Canada ahead of next season.
He is the second Ugandan to play for Montreal Impact after midfielder Michael Azira who has hence switched to Chicago Fire.
