Famous Muslim scholar Dr Mufti Ismail Menk has arrived in Uganda for a two-day visit.
Mufti Menk who was born and raised in Zimbabwe is expected to lead the Friday prayers at Old Kampala Mosque and attend a corporate dinner at Hotel Africana before addressing a congregation at Namboole Stadium on Sunday.
Kiwanuka Kizili, one of the organizers of Mufti Menk’s visit to Uganda, says entry in Namboole will be free of charge.
Mufti Menk is a religious scholar who in 2010 was named among the top 500 most influential Muslims in the world.
“His personable style and down to earth approach has made him one of the most sought after scholars in our time. He has endeared himself to people with his much loved lecture series, a Mufti Menk trademark,” says Kiwanuka.
Menk travels the world spreading a simple but profound message: “Do good, help others while preparing for the Hereafter”.
