President Museveni has paid a courtesy call on the Queen mother of Rwenzururu Kingdom Christine Biira Mukirania at Case Clinic in Kampala where she is admitted.
The President made an impromptu visit to the Clinic on his way to Addis Ababa where he joined other heads of state and government for the African union summit on Saturday.
While at the clinic, the President briefly talked to the Queen mother and some family members and health officials privately.
Queen Christine Mukirania is the mother of the current King of the Rwenzururu Kingdom Wesley Charles Mumbere Iremangoma and the wife of Isaih Mukirania, the original leader of the secessionist movement in Kasese and the first Rwenzururu King.
She is also mother to State Minister for Agriculture Christopher Kibazanga.
Museveni’s brother, Gen Salim Saleh, last year camped in Rwenzururu region to diffuse tension and create conditions that would allow businessmen invest money in the area’s tourism, trade and industries.
