President Yoweri Museveni is expected on 7th December 2019 to address more than 1000 Ugandans residing in the countries of South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Swaziland
According Deputy High Commissioner in South Africa Kintu Nyago, this event which will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
Museveni is expected to engage Ugandans in a number of leadership matters as well as charting a way forward in terms of developing their own country.
“We expect the President to address the concerns of Ugandans this side but also the Ugandans will report to him the challenges that they would want be solved,” Nyago reveals
Other issues to be discussed include how to put in place safer means through which Ugandans can work peacefully while in South Africa as well as attracting more South African Investments to Uganda
“Because South Africa is the most industrialized country in Africa, it has a well- established service sector which can employ as many Ugandans as possible but they too can do business here,” he adds
Meanwhile the NRM Southern Africa Chapter members will also use the opportunity to endorse President Museveni as the party candidate for the 2021 elections.
According to Isma Luzige, the chairman, the NRM Southern Africa Chapter was on Saturday launched in Pretoria at a function where the NRM Diaspora chairman, Hajji Abbey Walusimbi was represented by the Secretary General, Hamida Kibirige and a number of issues were discussed
He adds that in the coming week they are going to engage in a meeting with all Chairpersons for NRM South African Chapter to plan for a successful visit of the Ugandan Head of State and chairperson of the Ruling party.
