President Yoweri Museveni is slated to hold talks with Iranian Minister of Internal Affairs Mohammed Javad Zerif at State House Entebbe.
Minister Zerif is expected in the country along with a delegation of Iranian senior government officials, heads of departments and businessmen.
According Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the team will be on a two day working visit.
Dr Zrif is expected to hold talks with Museveni on among others strengthening existing political relations between the two countries and how to cultivate and promote their social economic and technological ties.
Iran has already established strong bonds with Uganda majorly in the area of security and anti terrorism efforts.
In this regard, the Asian nation has extended support to Uganda Police Force to facilitate its efforts in the areas of fighting human trafficking, Counter Terrorism, Narcotics and Cybercrime, Forensics, training, ICT, Canine, Traffic, Field Force, Logistics and Engineering and Police Health services.
