President Yoweri Museveni is expected to officially open the 9th Commonwealth regional conference hosted by the Inspectorate of Government, for heads of anti-corruption Agencies, which is scheduled for 6th to 11th May 2019.
This year’s conference will be held at Lake Victoria Serena Hotel in Entebbe under the theme; “Time to Act: Prevent Corruption for Sustainable Development “.
It is expected to attract over 100 participants from Anti-corruption Agencies in the Commonwealth countries in Africa
While updating the media on the conference at the Uganda Media Center, the Inspector General of government (IGG), Irene Mulyagonja said the conference will provide a unique platform for sharing emerging Anti-Corruption best practices and country innovations in fight against corruption and the promotion of good governance in Commonwealth Africa.
“By its nature, Corruption is secretive and complex. It often transcends national boundaries hence the need for international cooperation in combating it” she said
This year’s conference will bring together African heads of States and government, government officials, high-level representatives from commonwealth Secretariat, members of the private sector, civil society and public policy experts
