President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has met and held discussions with the King of Tooro, His Majesty Rukirabasaija Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
The meeting took place this afternoon at State House Entebbe.
State House in a statement said the two discussed a number of issues and matters of national importance.
“Accompanied by his mother Queen Best Kemigisha, King Oyo also briefed the President about the World Monarchs Summit that was slated for September this year but later postponed by the Kingdom due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” State House revealed.
This is the second meeting the two leaders have had this year.
Tooro Kingdom was slated to host the first-ever World Monarchs Summit from September 7th to September 11th this year 2020 under the theme, “Monarchs for sustainable Peace and Inclusive Development,”
The aim of the Summit was to build consensus and collective response by the world’s Monarchs to contribute to discussing and working together towards achieving sustainable peace and inclusive development.
The summit was to be jointly hosted by His Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru, the King of Tooro and President Yoweri Museveni.
