President Yoweri Museveni has emphasized that what Uganda needs most today under the National Resistance Movement Government, is a private sector led economy that based on the production of goods and services, creation of jobs and expansion of the tax base.
“The NRM has done all the development in the country, since its inception, through private sector led economy strategy for the national economy to recover. The whole world today survives on private sector led economy,” he said.
The President was speaking to members of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs whom he met yesterday at State House, Entebbe.
Hon. Amule Doreen, Women representative for Amolatar District in Northern Uganda, chairs the Committee.
The Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs is mandated by Parliament to oversee the activities and programmes of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Uganda Police Force and the Uganda Prisons Service.
