President Yoweri Museveni has Monday launched his campaign for next year’s presidential race in Luwero district.
The President, who is seeking his six term in office decided to launch the quest in this region which holds an important place in the history of his National Resistance Movement (NRM), having provided the base for the 5 year war that brought his government to power 35 years ago.
According to State House, Museveni started by addressing leaders and youth at the Kawumu Presidential Demonstration Farm, in Luwero.
As per the Electoral Commission, the meeting was attended by a few dozen people, mostly local government and party leaders.
Along the way, the president was greeted by groups of supporters who waved at him in show of support,
According to the schedule that was put out the president’s campaign team, Museveni will today campaign live on all radios and TV stations in Buganda region at 7pm and he will speak in Luganda language.
From Buganda, he will head to Lango region where he will talk from Lira district and all radio stations and TVs will air his messages to the public in Langi at 7pm.
