President Yoweri Museveni has said he will stick to holding campaign meetings of only 70 people despite the Electoral Commission and the Health Ministry increasing the number restriction to 200 people for presidential campaigns.
According to the President, his effort is aimed at containing the spread of Covid19 amongst the public.
Museveni is today in Arua city where meeting NRM leaders at MUNI university.
“We decided not to conduct mass rallies nor hold processions in these campaigns because it would put the public at risk in light of the raging Covid-19 pandemic,” president Museveni said earlier
“Our strategy is that I hold meetings with a few leaders who thereafter, together with other party supporters, undertake a house-to-house vote-hunt. We must avoid large gatherings and protect our people.”
This website has established that all people to attend President Museveni’s campaigns are required to be tested for Covid19.
In this region, Museveni is accompanied by the party secretary general Justine Lumumba, 1st deputy Prime Minister Moses Ali among other party officials.
From his rally, He will address the people this area on their local media outlets at 7pm.
