Singer Mun G on Sunday 23 was the center of attention for the young and energetic young Nabisunsa Girls as Mirinda launched this year’s Miss Teens pageant in the school.
Sponsored by Mirinda, one of the Century Bottling Limited (CBL) product, the 6th edition 2019 of Mirinda Miss Teen Pageant was launched with focus on uplifting the girl child talent and confidence by providing a platform where they can mentored under the ‘Surprise Us and You be surprised’ Campaign
Mun G is part of the team that has been and will be going to 20 selected Girls’ schools in different parts of the country to look for competitors that will fight for the crown at a grand finale to be held on 7th of September 2019 in Kampala.
At Nabisunsa Girls, the competitors battled out in three different categories such as Miss Teen, Miss Fashionista and Miss ambitious.
Beth Kukunda, a senior three student won the overall Miss Teen, Nabisunsa Girls secondary school. The young plus size girl was chosen for her confidence and ability to overcome challenges like bullying that normally befalls heavy weight children at school.
Sarah Kwerit also a senior Six student who presented a project on environmental protection was crown miss Ambitious while Rukia Lunkuse was crowned Miss Fashionista.
According to Patience Ahabwe, Miss Teens winner 2013 who is now one of the judges for the pageant, noted that the pageant is a very good opportunity for young girls to gain exposure to the outside world and also connections for the life after school.
“This year we are looking for the girl that is outstanding, intelligent, confident and beautiful in and out. We ask all young girls to participate because this could change your life” she said.
The other judges include Natasha Sinayobye, Othman Ssozi and Humphrey Wampula.
The final winners will be awarded Shs 10M in form of school fees for a year while the additional 4 winners will travel to the best amusement park in a destination that will be revealed at the finale.
