Mumbere Wants Dialogue with Museveni

The Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere has petitioned President Museveni for a dialogue to discuss how to solve the Kasese situation.

This was revealed by the Kingdom Attorney General Alfred Makasi while addressing reporters in Jinja shortly after court appearance.

Makasi who accompanied his boss Mumbere today to extend his bail before the High Court Deputy Registrar Jesse Byaruhanga, says the Omusinga has already appointed a team of ministers led by Mbayahi Gadi to spearhead the dialogue.

Mumbere alongside his royal guards were arrested in November 2016 after the police and military stormed his palace looking for people they suspected to have taken refuge, a raid that left over 100 people dead including police officers.

Following the bloody clashes, the state slapped several charges ranging from treason and terrorism, to murder and aggravated robbery.

Today Mumbere l appeared in court alongside his premier Thembo Katsumbire and juveniles to fulfil the bail conditions of reporting every first Monday of the month.
