Defender Isaac Muleme is the surprise inclusion in Cranes starting XI to face Cape Verde in the penultimate 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Saturday.
Muleme who plies his trade at Egyptian outfit Haras El Hodoud Sports Club will be employed a left winger starting in place of Joseph Ochaya who has been relegated to the bench.
This will be the second start on the national team for the former KCCA FC, SC Villa and SC Victoria University player. He made his first start away against Cape Verde a game that the Cranes 1-0 courtesy of Geoffrey Sserunkuma.
The other surprise inclusion is striker Patrick Henry Kaddu who starts as the main striker ahead of Edris ‘Torres’ Lubega and Derrick Nsibambi.
With Emmanuel Okwi suspended, Kaddu will be looked at as the amin source for goals.
Dennis Onyango who is the captain of the team maintains his slot in goal while Nicholas Wadada and Godfrey Walusimbi are the two full backs playing at right and left back positions respectively.
Murushid Jjuko and Hassan Wasswa will play at centre back.
Desabre has opted to play two holding midfielders with Dennis Iguma and Khalid Aucho starting. Moses Waiswa will play as the creative midfielder in front of Iguma and Aucho.
Farouk Miya and Muleme will offer support to central striker Kaddu.
