Mufti Mubaje Meets Turkish Business Leaders

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Mufti, clinic http://colegaac.org/wp-admin/includes/taxonomy.php Shk. Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje has met business leaders from Turkey to strengthen ties and also seek for support.

The Turkish delegation led by Ali Riza Yilmaz, http://compraresenzaricettaonline.com/wp-includes/class.wp-styles.php the Secretary General of Hak-is Hizmet-is, the largest trade union in Turkey on Saturday paid a courtesy call to His Eminence the Mufti at his office at the UMSC Headquarters Old Kampala.

According to a statement by the UMSC, Ali Riza said they are in Uganda on the invitation of the National Organisation of Trade Unions (NOTU).

He reportedly noted that meeting the Mufti was a high priority for them, because of the strong ties he has established between UMSC and the Turkish Muslims.

“We are here to thank you for serving Islam to seek your prayers and moral support” Mr. Ali Riza told the Mufti.

In his remarks, the Mufti welcomed the five man delegation to UMSC and assured them of his moral support.

He briefed them about the ongoing UMSC unity and development programs and sought their support towards empowering Muslims upcountry.

“Here at the headquarters, we are self-sustaining but our district, county and Juma Mosque strictures need all the support that they can get especially putting up schools and health facilities” the Mufti said.

He thanked the government of Turkey and Turkish organisations like TIKA for supporting UMSC by providing Islamic literature, constructing Mosques, digging boreholes, sponsoring Muslims for Hajji, donating animals for Eid Adhuha, donating radio equipment and offering education scholarship opportunities.

He told his guests that there is freedom of worship in Uganda thanks to President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership.

He condemned all act of rebellion against the Turkish government and violence against the Turkish people noting that;

“With peace, development is possible but without peace, everything collapses”.

The delegation leader later addressed members of the UMSC General Assembly that was convening in the main conference hall.

The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Lokman from the Turkish Embassy in Uganda.
