Uganda Premier League
Vipers SC 5-0 Maroons
Victory celebrations don’t get any better than this!
Vipers Sports Club overhauled Maroons Football Club 5-0 in a Uganda Premier League match played on Wednesday evening at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Among the scorers was their mid-season acquisition Paul Mucureezi.
Mucureezi who joined Vipers Sports Club from Mbarara City scored the 4th goal in the 75th minute having come of the bench to replace 3rd goal scorer, Milton Karisa.
In the aftermath of the match, before the winning side could even go down in the tunnel, Mucureezi celebrated his goal in the best way possible.
The former Mbarara City talisman grabbed an engagement ring from a nearby coach and proposed to his unsuspecting girlfriend Esther Swabale.
The ‘Bakiga nation ambassador’ flanked by his teammates, got on one knee and proposed to Swabale as the huge crowd cheered on.
She must have said “Yes” as moments after, the couple shared a heartwarming embrace before he could even push the ring onto her finger.
The moment was so incredible that even the Maroons fans in the stands joined in the celebrations.
Mucureezi’s goal came fourth after Allan Kayiwa, Brian Nkuubi Ssmakula and Karisa had put the Venoms in a comfortable lead with Abraham Ndugwa wrapping up the scoring fiesta.
Table leaders Vipers now sit 53 points, four ahead of rivals and defending champions KCCA FC.
Vipers will visit Wakiso Giants the coming Friday at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in Wakiso on match day 25.
