Mubiru: Cosafa-Bound Cranes Pick Valuable Experience From The AFCON-Bound Team

Uganda Cranes COSAFA-bound team head coach Abdallah Mubiru believes that the team has picked valuable experience from the 1-1 friendly against the Egypt-bound team.

The two squads faced each other on Thursday at Namboole with the game ending 1-all.

Allan Kayiwa connected in a Mustafa Kizza corner kick to give the second-string side the lead but Patrick Kaddu equalized to save the seniors blushes.

Mubiru believes that the days spent in camp and the training match has improved the side ahead of the tournament in South Africa.

“It was such a good display from my boys. It was a great show against the experienced players and I like the challenge because the AFCON bound team is far much experienced than the COSAFA team. There is a lot we have learned as the technical team and the players,” Mubiru said.

The team is headed to Mbarara on Friday before proceeding to Bushenyi for a regional tour match against the Western Regional select side.
