The Member of Parliament for Kassanda South, Simeo Nsubuga has been defeated in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) MP elections.
According to the final results declared by the results declared by the Kasanda District NRM election officer, Susan Namuddu, Nsubuga was defeated by 162 vote by his opponent Michael Michael who garnered 11,173 votes against the former’s 11,011 votes.
Muhumuza was declared the winner with the narrow margin of 50.4% against Nsubuga’s 49.6%.
Nsubuga had this week complained of being fought by the powerful people in Government, whom he fell short of naming.
He was among the MPs who spearheaded the lifting of the presidential term limits in the Constitution.
