MTN Uganda was the biggest winner at the recent concluded Digital Impact Awards ceremony that took place at the Kampala Serena Hotel Friday evening.
MTN won in five categories including the Digital Brand of the year.
The other categories where MTN came out as the winner included Financial inclusion service which was awarded to the MTN-CBA bank Mo-cash service, the best digital customer service and mobile financial service for Africa.
While giving out the award, the guest of honor, Maggie Kigozi thanked mobile money for being innovative and creating services that are beneficial to a common Ugandan.
She asked all other corporate companies to work towards creating a difference in the economic status of the country.
“Uganda has the potential to become a middle status income. The infrastructure has been put in place and it’s up to the common Uganda to take advantage of the available opportunities especially in business. However this can be made possible if they have good financial services that enable then carry out their work. I call upon banks and mobile networks to work together and make financial access much better and more appealing to the users,” Kigozi said.
