MTN Uganda has today announced the return of a popular entry-level smartphone in the market, the Fero A4001 Plus.
Introduced last year through a partnership with the manufacturers, Fero Mobile, the handsets run-out in the MTN Service Centres in less than a month, yet demand was still high. Now, that same smartphone is back at a bargain price of Ugx.129,000.
“We were overwhelmed by the demand of the smartphone when we introduced it to the market in November 2017. Demand is driven by the need to own or gift someone an internet enabled phone at an affordable price. The good news is that Fero A4001 Plus is back and this yet another opportunity for you to buy it for yourself, family and friends,” said Olivier Prentout, the CMO MTN Uganda.
MTN Uganda has the ambition to have reached 95% data connectivity by 2020 from the 50% coverage currently.
This growth in data connectivity will be made possible by MTN’s continued investment in the infrastructure and also the growth in the usage of the internet through smartphones.
MTN has an estimated 1.9 million smartphone users, a figure that is still growing. To facilitate the future of communications, data, cheaper handsets like the Fero A4001 Plus are an option.
“Recently we reduced prices on data bundles to ensure smartphone users get more MBs for less. The Fero handset comes with 2GB of internet data, meaning that customers can enjoy our affordable data rates using an affordable smartphone,” Prentout adds.
It is a phone that fits very well with the needs of this market. With its long battery life, it is able to ensure that you can remain connected to the internet and also staying remains available while you make voice calls.
MTN Uganda saw this phone as an opportunity to ensure that there is easy access to the internet. To ensure that people stay connected, we have ensured customers get the phone at a price of Ugx.129,000 with 2GB. With 2GB customers will be able to experience MTN’s reliable internet that is everywhere.
