MTN Nyege Nyege ‘Cere’ Festival 2019 Edition Heads To West Nile

The MTN Nyege Nyege 2019 festival dubbed ‘Cere’ Festival is set to be held in West Nile.

The four-day festival will take place from April 31st to May 3rd, 2019 at the famous Miriadua Falls in Kijomoro Sub County in Maracha District.

All the other episodes have been taking place at the discovery beach located in the forest around the shores of river Nile in Jinja.

The Head of Cere Festival organizing Committee Gerald Iga said that various forms of Entertainment and Tourism activities targeting the International community shall be their key focus.

Iga added that they expect over 3000 people to participate in this year’s edition that will feature more than 50 artistes from Northern Uganda and beyond.

“This year’s festival will make history of an outlook for West Nile and Northern Uganda through unique music and cultural performances,” he said.

The Maracha District LC5 Chairperson, Lawrence Adiga says the festival will enable local people appreciate the value of tourism and help the youths develop their talents in Art, Music and culture.

As part of the preparations for the festival, the District has already embarked on the process of constructing sanitary facilities at Miriadua Falls.
