The motor-mouth Bunyole West Member of Parliament, Eng. James Waluswaka has been defeated by a journalist in the concluded National Resistance Movement party primary elections.
Journalist Mutiwa Geoffrey Eric, who is also station manager of Tororo FM, was declared the winner by the Tororo district NRM election officer Hisayi Richard with 21,693 votes (51.6%).
The incumbent Eng. Waluswaka came distant second with 7,803 votes representing a paltry 18.6% followed by his predecessor Wangolo Jacob who polled 7,130 (16%).
Waluswaka, commonly known as senior cadre, defeated Wangolo in the 2016 election and has only ruled for one term.
