Western Youths MP Mwiine Mpaka yesterday called on students at Mbarara Secondary School not to engage themselves in the matters concerning Kyadondo East MP Robert Kagulanyi, (Bobi Wine) who is in military detention.
The MP made the call while donating 80 mattresses to the students who lost their belongings in a fire the gutted one of the school dormitories last month.
Following the inferno, students were sent home and renovations were done, before they reported back on 13th August for the end of term examinations.
While handing over the mattresses to the students, MP Mwiine Mpaka urged them to steer clear of national politics and concentrate on their studies.
This was after students started chanting “We Want Bobi Wine” as soon has he took to the podium to address them.
Hon Mwine Mpaka urged the students to remain calm, stating; “This is not a matter that should concern you. You are here to study not politicking
“I think you should leave that for the competent authorities (the court martial and the rest) to handle,” he said.
The MP while addressing press later, reassured that parliament will be engaging in an extensive debate on the violent events that transpired in Arua Municipality by-election campaigns.
Bobi Wine along with four other MPs and dozens were remanded on Thursday following the clashes in the Monday campaign elections in Arua Municipality in which one person was shot dead.
