Nateete Police has this morning released Makindye East Member of Parliament Hon. Allan Ssewanyana on Police bond, having spent a night in custody.
Ssewanyana was arrested on Monday in Munyonyo where he had gone to meet traders who were being evicted from the wetland.
According to the release form, Ssewanyana, who is charged with inciting violence, has presented two sureties; Mujjabi Vincent and Ssebagala Hamza, whom police has found substantial to release him.
He has been ordered to appear at the Ministry of Water and Environment headquarters on July 2, 2020 at exactly 9 am.
Ssewanyana was arrested by Police, in collaboration with NEMA officials at Kyengeza- Munyonyo market, where he had gone to visit the traders that were being evicted, questioned for encroaching on the wetland.
