MP Odonga Otto Discharged from Hospital After Fight with Colleague

Aruu County Member of Parliament has Thursday evening been discharged from Nakasero Hospital, where he was rushed after he was reportedly punched by a fellow MP.

Otto is reported to have been punched by Hon Anthony Akol, the Kilak county MP, following an altercation in the parliamentary lobby.

According to reports, the Kilak MP approached Otto and questioned why he was de-campaigning him back in his constituency.

Otto is said to have told residents of Lakang in Amuru over the weekend, not to vote for Akol, because he had sold their land to government.

In the lobby, during the exchange, Hon Otto reportedly admitted to have made the comments

In the heat of the argument, Hon Akol punched Otto in the face. The two were reportedly separated by Gulu Municipality MP Hon Lyandro Komakech.

Parliamentary Police later joined and an ambulance was summoned to take injured Otto to Hospital.
