Arua Municipality Member of Parliament Ibrahim Abiriga has admitted that he was indeed photographed urinating at the ministry of Finance fence in Kampala yesterday evening.
While appearing at parliament this afternoon, Abiriga, who was being interviewed by a local TV station, said that;
“I don’t know what’s wrong with these journalists. They are spreading bad things about me. I was urinating. What is wrong with that?”
He added that “I urinated because I was badly off. I wonder why people are spreading it all over internet and Whatsapp, yet I was answering nature’s call!”
This comes after pictures of Abiriga standing behind a shrub outside the ministry of Finance fence going viral on social media.
In the pictures, Abiriga is seen standing in a position that makes him appear as if he is easing himself.
His bodyguard, dressed in police uniform, is seen standing next to him, with Abiriga’s yellow Beetle car parked nearby.
However, all this notwithstanding, it should be noted that it is unethical to urinate in a public place, especially outside a ministry or any other government installations.
This is because Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) set up a number of public toilets in several parts of Kampala, where citizens can easily answer nature’s calls.
