Motocross Team Voted USPA Sports Personality for December


The Uganda National Motocross team has on Monday been voted the Sports Personality for the month of December by the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA).

In thier monthly assembly convened at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala the Sports Journalists voted the national motorcross team.

The team defeated four other nominees including UCU Lady Canons, Derrick Nsibambi, Roniz Pool Club and Ndejje University.

Team Uganda (Motorcross) entered the final round with a big points-margin of 1124 points. Hosts Kenya had 497 points from the earlier round this year.

At Jamhuri Racing Park, Uganda collected 766 points to beat their rivals yet again to the title in Kenya.

The motocross team garnered 540 votes while UCU Lady Canons who won the national basketball league coming second with 505 votes.

Derrick Nsibambi who finished as top scorer in the CECAFA championship with four goals came third while Roniz Pool club, the league champions ended fourth in voting.


Ndejje University finished fifth in the voting with 330 votes.

The monthly winners for the last three months will be crowned on 18th January 2017 at Imperial Royale.
