A mother of nine-month old triplets on Tuesday morning pitched camp Kabale District Headquarters seeking assistance.
Niwandinda Sarah, 29, of Kitunduguru village, Buhara sub county in Kabale District told our reporter that her husband Tindimwebwa Silver, who was a security guard run away from home after his job was terminated due to Covid-19. Tindimwebwa is believed to be hiding in Kanungu District.
Niwandinda said she is struggling to feed her triplets – all boys — since she has no job in the village.
“I have no job and my babies need a lot of care. I have been talking to my husband who’s in Kanungu over the matter but he says he has no money to help.”
“Even those other children at home have no food. I used to buy milk for my triplets but I have no more money. Even the house I am living in is almost collapsing” Niwandinda said.
Niwandinda also has three other children at home who she has responsibility over. Her first born is twelve.
She revealed that her husband could have escaped from home after failing to pay for a loan of Shs 500,000 he got from a Sacco.
Earlier last Month, Denis Michael Owamani, a resident of Nyakabungo Village in Rwene parish in Buhara Sub County committed suicide after failing to raise Shs 1000 to buy a sachet of salt.
