Police in Kabale has arrested a 64 year old mother and her two dayghters for alegedly stealing a 2 month old baby girl.
Elly Maate the Kigezi regional police spokesman identifes the three as Margret Kabazigurukana, 64, Doreen Kyampaire, 29, and Oliver Kyasimire, 20.
Maate says on September 9th 2020 at around 8am at Butorane village, in Buhara sub county Kabale district Oliver Kyasimire who had arrived from Lyantonde went to check on one of her relatives Doreen Twakyire.
While there, Kyasimire is said to have asked to take a walk with Doreen’s baby to the shops to by airtime.
However, several minutes later, Doreen and her husband started getting concerned as Kyosiimire was not returning.
Upon rushing to Kyosimire’s home, they were told that the latter had left with her mother Margret Kabazigurukana and the baby to Lyantonde where she is married.
The parents then went and reported to the area chairman one Sudan James, who notified police and on September 12th 2020 they traveled to Lyantonde and arrested the suspects and brought them back to Kabale.
Maate says that police has commenced investigations to establish the reason the two decided to steal the baby.
