As the efforts towards the fight against the spread of coronavirus continues, the Uganda National Covid-19 task force has over the recent weeks received overwhelming support from several companies and individuals.
The donations which include food, money and washing equipment;soap among others, have been donated to the task force to help support individuals affected by the lockdown in the districts of Kampala, Wakiso and the neighbouring didtricts.
Some of the notable companies and organisations that have tremediusly supported the cause include NRM, Topbet betting company, MTN Uganda and NWSC among others and got a vote of thanks from President Museveni and other individuals for their generous support.
The latest companies that have joined the list include; Mantra East Africa Limited and Hero Motocorp ltd MAC East Africa and Isuzu East Africa that donated 10 Motor bikes and Shs80m respecetively towards the COVID-19 response efforts in Uganda.
These donations were made to the Ministry of Health (Covid 19 Task Force) at the ministry Headquarters in Kampala are aimed at supporting the ongoing measures in fighting the pandemic and accelerate efforts in stopping the spread of the virus.
MAC EA Ltd the official Isuzu dealer for Uganda, is part of AL Mansour Group, and are the leading distributors for many brands including Isuzu, Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and AC Delco along with Opel, Peugeot & MG in the following countries Egypt, Iraq, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania and many other African countries.
While handing over the donation,Mohamad Khadr, the Country General Manager MAC East Africa and Mantra EA Ltd said, The Government and Ministry of Health are doing exceptional efforts of leading and managing this global crisis & needs all support in order to continue doing great work in conquering this pandemic and keeping us all safe.
The funds will support food distribution in the country, facilitate protective gear for health workers and assist in the daily operations of the Ministry.
Mr. Khadr further added that as an organization, “we are committed to ensuring that our staff stay safe and extend a helping hand to the community we operate in and urged the community at large to stand together with the Government in fighting against Covid 19.”
