The Ministry of Health has received an assortment of items from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) projected to boast Covid-19 response in the country.
KOICA has been a partner of the Ministry of Health for quite a while and to date, several contributions have been made in form of equipment donations and other partnerships towards covid-19 response by the agency.
The items, which included 5 Covid-19 smart testing walk through booths, 26,400 RNA extraction kits and another 26,400 PCR diagnostic kits were received by the permanent secretary, Dr Diana Atwine and other members on behalf of the ministry of health.
“The smart testing booths will boost testing efforts and increase operational efficiency at major entry points on land borders and at the main airport,” Dr. Atwine said.
In the same way, other items that were received included 34,000 KF94 Quality Sanitary Masks, 10,000 PCR Diagnostic kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from Good Neighbours with support from KOICA.
Currently, Uganda has a total of 19,588 confirmed Covid-19 cases, 8,840 recoveries and 197 deaths.
