Mobile Money Murder Suspects Charged in Army Court

Makindye General Court Martial chaired by Lt Gen Andrew Gutti has charged and remanded five people accused of robbing and killing of mobile money agents in areas of Nateete and Bunamwaya.

The suspects were charged with murder and aggravated robbery, to which they pleaded not-guilty.

Being that they were appearing before a new court panel, the suspects were taken through the court procedures, and they agreed to appear before all the court members as they are.

The suspects include Pte Mwangusho Dennis, Pte Anichan Bob formerly attached to Kabamba Barracks and Lance Corporal Mubaale Edward formerly attached to Land Forces Headquarters.

The others are Mulunda Stanley aka Jumba, a casual labourer and Ntale Isa aka Ganja, a bodaboda rider, both civilians.

State prosecution led by Captain Ambrose Baguma urged court to adjourn the matter to next month, since investigations are still ongoing.

The court chairman pushed the case to 5th and 6th of August 2019 for mention.

Prosecution alleges that this group on 10th June 2019 at Zana Bunamwaya Makindye Ssabagabo Kampala district, using two SMG guns robbed 6 million shillings from Nalwadda Harriet whom they later on killed together with one Nakabuubi Moureen


It is further alleged that on 14th May 2019 at Church Zone in Nateete, with malice aforethought, caused death of Walugembe Raphael whom they robbed of 400,000 shillings and a Samsung phone by the use of a gun

The suspects, who are all but one first time offenders were arrested in a joint security operation by Internal Security Organization (ISO), Uganda Police Force and Chieftancy of Military Intelligence (CMI)
