NHK Gorica registered their first win this season in the Croatian top flight league on Sunday after stunning Hajduk Split.
Ugandan forward Farouk Miya played a key part as his team won 2-0 on the road scoring the opening goal.
Lukasz Zwolinski netted the other goal for Gorica to win 2-0 at Poljud stadium on Sunday.
Miya featured for 85 minutes before paving way but opened the scores in the 27th minute to give the visitors the lead.
This was his second goal at Gorica. He was also on target in the 3-2 loss to Inter Zapresic.
Five minutes to the break, Gorica were awarded a penalty and Polish striker Zwolinski was able to convert and double the lead.
Despite efforts by Hajduk Split to stage a comeback in the second half, Gorica were resilient enough to hold on to the first half lead.
The win propelled Gorica to 5th place on 4 points while Hajduk Split dropped to 8th position.
Next for Miya and his team will be a home encounter against Rudes FC on 25th August 2018.
