Police have finally recovered their bus which disappeared on Sunday, December 23, Chimp Corps report.
Deputy Police Station Patrick Onyango said the bus was found in Mityana, Central Region.
“The bus UP 5484 that the driver had disappeared with was impounded in Mityana,” said Onyango on December 25.
He said the driver was “arrested” and is “currently detained at Mityana Police Station.”
The arrest followed a memo issued by AIGP Godfrey Bangirana who heads the Police Directorate of Engineering and Logistics.
Bangirana on Monday said the bus was last seen at around 1:00pm on Sunday, being driven along the Kampala Northern Bypass by one of their officers who he only identified as CPL/DRV Mwase.

Onyango said the bus driver would soon face “disciplinary charges.”
It remains unclear whether the driver wanted to steal the bus.
It’s understood the number plates had already been plucked from the bus.
